    Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre met today with His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. This is the Crown Prince’s first visit to Norway.

    The government’s offshore wind initiative continues on a steady course. The government will announce the next project areas for development of offshore wind on the Norwegian continental shelf in 2025 and is proposing 35 billion NOK for a support scheme dedicated towards the first floating offshore wind tender within the Vestavind F and Vestavind B areas.

  • Norwegian Government to expand and extend support for Ukraine’s fight for freedom

    The Norwegian Government is proposing to increase the overall funding framework for the Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine to NOK 135 billion and to extend the Support Programme for an additional three years. The proposed allocation represents a minimum rather than a funding cap. The Government will assess the need to increase funding on an ongoing basis.

  • The government proposes to increase the allocation for resource and environmental mapping of seabed minerals

    The government will facilitate responsible, sustainable and profitable seabed mineral activity on the Norwegian continental shelf. We need more knowledge about the mineral resources, the environmental conditions in the Norwegian deep-sea areas, and about regional and local currents in these areas. The government proposes to allocate 150 million NOK in 2025 for the management of seabed minerals, including resource and environmental mapping.

  • The Norwegian government proposes a 19 billion (NOK) increase in defence spendings

    The Norwegian government proposes to increase the defense budget for 2025 by NOK 19.2 billion, up to a total of NOK 110.1 billion. The proposal fulfills the first major promise of the Norwegian long-term defence plan and exceeds NATO's target of its members spending 2.16 percent of their gross national product (GDP) on defense.

  • The Longship project is near completion

    The Norwegian government continues its investment in the Longship project and proposes an allocation of 2.1 billion NOK in the state budget for 2025. In 2025, a large part of the full-scale project for CCS in Norway will be completed.
